Addiction is not limited to just drugs and alcohol but can also involve actions or behaviours. Sex and love addiction is classified as a process addiction, as opposed to substance abuse. It can be difficult to find the highly specialised treatment required to treat S&L addiction however at Primrose Lodge we offer a dedicated and comprehensive treatment programme for sex and love dependency at our fully-residential clinic.
Each patient is thoroughly assessed and through one-to-one and group therapy we help clients overcome their root causes and regain the power in their lives. We provide private en-suite rooms, onsite gym, impressive and therapeutic gardens, dedicated therapy suites along with all-inclusive meals and snacks prepared to your dietary specification by our very own inhouse chef!

The starting point in treatment for sex and love addiction is a comprehensive psychological assessment. This is only possible through counselling and psychotherapy. Many cases of sex and love addiction begin as a way to self-medicate another disorder such as anxiety or depression. Through counselling, we can discover whether this is the case for you.
Using both group and one-to-one therapies, we can help you develop healthy patterns for relationships and love. Like a substance addiction, you’ll need to abstain from your harmful behaviour for some time, but in time you will be able to re-enter a normal and sexually fulfilling relationship.
Rehabilitation is your best bet for achieving a full recovery from sex and love addiction. We offer a range of treatment programmes, including a 28-day rehab programme. While that may be ideal for you, depending on the nature of your case, we may recommend staying in treatment for longer than that.
No matter which of our rehab programmes you choose and how long you remain in treatment, you’ll benefit from our holistic therapies, which are designed to ensure that you’re treated physically, as well as spiritually and mentally.
At Primrose Lodge, we can guarantee that you’ll have a caring and non-judgemental environment to get better in. With our elite team of trained therapists, counsellors and doctors, you can be assured you’ll have the best possible quality of treatment. Call us today and speak to one of our qualified counsellors.
We strongly recommend a minimum of 28 days rehabilitation. In this time, you will be treated psychologically, emotionally, and spiritually. Our specialist programmes include:
Relapse is a process, not an event. There are three stages of relapse which are:
Anxiety, mood swings, poor eating and anger are all emotional signs and symptoms of relapse when you are not necessarily thinking of using. If you don’t change your behaviour at this stage and you will live too long in the stage of emotional turmoil, then you’ll become exhausted, and when you’re exhausted you will want to escape, which will move you into the mental relapse phase
Fantasising, hanging out with old using buddy’s, glamorising your past, planning your next relapse etc… In mental relapse, there’s a war going on in your mind. Part of you wants to use, but part of you doesn’t. In the early phase of mental relapse, you’re just idly thinking about using. But in the later phase, you’re definitely thinking about using and the urges are more powerful and time-consuming. Using fantasies take on a firm hold and you become paralysed with the obsession of using almost as if your life will be better if you do
Going to the pub, having “just the one” texting your dealer, making the phone call, going to a party where you know there will be drugs etc… If the emotional and mental phases of relapse are not addressed then the physical act will ultimately take place. At this phase, you are unlikely to enter a pub several times without drinking or drop call your dealer and he doesn’t call back. At this stage you are days, if not minutes from using and must reach out for help by calling a fellow addict, going to a meeting or calling Primrose Lodge for help!
With our relapse prevention training and 1yr free aftercare, we can help you become aware of your thought processes and behaviours, not identify and become consumed by a thought and put together coping strategies to help you get through the tough times and live life addiction free
The teenage years can be intense for opposite-sex relationships and friendships. Usually, this is a normal part of growing up and ‘coming of age’, however, if it gets out of control, things can spiral and become a love addiction. As cute as it may sound, love and sex addictions are more damaging than they sound and must not be taken lightly.
At our sister centre in Banbury, Oxfordshire, we offer treatment for love and sex addiction in teens. In fact, our facility is one of the few in the country that offers treatment for adolescents.
While a rehab programme is intended to provide comprehensive and intensive treatment for addiction, full recovery cannot truly be attained within the short period of time that you’re in rehab. A bit of extra support can go a long way to make a real difference.
We can provide free aftercare for a period of one year after your rehab programme to provide the additional support you need to stay on track. During that period, you can benefit from phone support, one-to-one therapy, weekly sessions and outpatient support.
It can be emotionally daunting to get treatment and counselling, or even just think about it, but it can also be difficult to admit that you have a problem in the first place. If you have your concerns, but would like to know for certain, our therapists can perform an assessment.
Once you are ready for treatment, it’s best to start immediately. You can get in touch with us today on 0203 553 9263 to have a chat with a counsellor and, in no time, you’ll be receiving treatment.
